Since sometimes, the weather decides to give us some rain, we are pleased to give you the following ideas on how to enjoy the Santa Cruz area without the steady sunshine, which is our norm.
Winter Waterfalls
Walking in a forest after a big storm is a special treat. Streams, creeks and rivers will be raging. Waterfalls that trickle in the summer can be wild and turbulent in the winter.
Some great local waterfalls:
-
Tip Toe Falls at Portola Redwoods State Park
-
Castle Rock Falls in Castle Rock State Park
Neptune’s Plunge Miniature Golf:
This is indoors at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk on Beach Street
Surfbowl Bowling:
Across the street from the Boardwalk, near Neptune’s
Capitola Mall:
Wear your Hats or bring your Umbrella and go:
Walking on the beach and watching the storm waves
Monterey Bay Aquarium:
Just 45 minutes south, be sure to call and get your tickets
in advance so you don’t have to stand in line.
Theaters and Performances:
Capitola Theatre for Performing Arts, 120 Monterey Ave.,
Capitola Village. Info/Tickets: 888.496.7372

And, of course, Bonding with your relatives & friends:
This may be your best time to really get to know them. Start by using the several games or cards that are in the homes and during the game, explore your family history and find out all the unusual facts that only the older generation know, ie: where did your ancestors come from and why did they move, what was their favorite hobby, what interesting things did they do and what did they die from. And the older generation can learn what they have in common with the latest generation!
Please let us know in your home’s Guest book what other fun things you discovered during this kind of weather!
And we are always available for information about Last-Minute Fun Events
