Tips from the Owners of
Bucks Beach Bungalow to you, our honored guests

Welcome to Bucks Beach Bungalow, "our someday" retirement home.  The following is an addendum to the Guests Vacation Home Rental Contract listed on www.agreatplacetostay.net home page.

1.General Information:  This home is an open architecture style.  Please see floor plan on our website.   There are blue velvet privacy curtains on both the Murphy bed area and the living room that can be drawn for separation, as the only solid interior door is on the bathroom.  There is a two-story owner's workshop behind the Bungalow between the parking area and the backyard patio which is not open to guests.

2.Lockbox: Located next to the back door, ignore the one near the back gate as that opens our workshop near the driveway.  Combination will be emailed when final payment received and processed. There are a couple "walk-around" keys on the kitchen counter, though most guests find it easier to just use the combination to access the Bungalow.  (The lockbox next to the parking area gate belongs to the owner's workshop and is not the same combination.)
3.          Parking:  Suggest using parking spaces in back of Bungalow, access from alley off Hawes St (see map on website.)  There is a small-lighted sign on the fence that says BUCKS, 341 next to the 2 parking spaces.  If you make a small left turn circle while parking and have the cars facing the gate on the left side, it is easier to back up and then leave the alley forward, rather than having to back up.  There are motion-sensor lights around the home to help see if you arrive after dark.  Although there is no parking permits required to park on 35th or Hawes, cars maybe ticketed if they are not parked within the white lines at the edge of the street.  This means that one must go over the curb and use the small paved area in front of the deck for their right side wheels.

4.          Garbage Pick-up:  Our gardener comes Sunday afternoon and mows the lawn and tends to the flowers.  He will also roll the garbage cans out to the street for early Monday morning pick-up.  We would appreciate it if guests would roll them the few feet back to their place by the hedge, after they are empty (usually by 11am on Monday) to make the neighborhood look better.

5.Pet Policy: We welcome many kinds of pets and have made our back-yard a safe haven for them.  DOGS:  We have a lockable cat or very small dog door that opens to the complete fenced-in backyard with both shady and sunny areas.  The beaches, less than 7-doors away are pet friendly and the county even provides plastic Mutt Mitts for the inevitable.  We also have a good supply of plastic bags next to the right side of the refrigerator in a Bag-Bag for the same.   CATS:  For cats we have a cat fully enclosed front screen porch that looks on to a the deck with lots of birds.   OTHERS:  We've even has a bunny that visited and hopped around on the front deck.  What's next?

6.Phone numbers and how to use answering service:  The Bungalow guest number is 831-476-0506 and you can tell your friends they can reach you there.  If you're not there, the phone will have a red light blinking and a "stutter tone" instead of the normal dial tone.  To get your messages, just call the phone's number 476-0170 and when the answering message starts playing, just press the * key.  The answering service will prompt you on how to retrieve your messages. The password is the last 5 digits of the phone number.

7.Types of Beds:  No more than 6 guests are to sleep overnight,  unless under the age of 2.  We have a Queen Murphy bed with a memory foam top in the Bedroom area, a Queen Innerspring Futon in the Living Room area, and in the shelves behind the Futon are 4 cots that can be set up in the Living Room or in front of the fireplace.  You can use all the

8.Hot tub Rules:  Just be double sure to replace the tub's cover, it just takes a moment after you finish when you are turning off the jets. If you don't turn off the jets when you leave the tub, it may be cold the next time you want to use it and our electric bill will be sky-high.  Please keep the bubble plastic on the water when you are finished.  The easiest way to use the tub is to stand on the steps, then flip the cover back over the metal bar.  Then flip 1/2 of the bubble plastic over the cover, then walk into the tub and lift up the center and push it back towards the bushes.  It will rest on the back wooden edge of the tub.  When finished, walk to the back and flip the cover & bubble plastic back over the tub.

9.        Emergency information:  Call 911 (if necessary first) then call
www.aGreatPlaceToStay.net at 476-0170.  If an appliance stops working, please call our emergency number 1-831-476-1463 for all staff cell phones.

10.Owner Requests:  Please have a wonderful time and leave us a note in the Guest log of the fun things you did so that we and others can benefit.

Thanks,  Judith & Buck
